To be just one of those invisibles, who felt liberated when Augustus Waters clanked his glass of champagne with Hazel’s toasting to a life, that after all, is still filled with goodness, perhaps has been my only motivation when something seems out of place.
In spite of all the tragedies and the losses that we face in our lives, there are things, still existent, that will want to make us believe in the goodness that the world holds.
We’re still here, living, just as we should be doing. But what matters at the end of it all, is our will to take life as if it were a birthday present. Way too many things have been taken for granted in all these years of human existence. Don’t just exist because you ought to, because you were born of an evolutionary process; Live, because you out of those ten thousand species made it to the list of the surviving ones, because there might as well be something that you can do and not fail at.
